One day last summer I was in a meloncholic state of mind. Keith and I were on a date, and we went to Borders book store (yes, that was our date) after dinner. I was strolling through the religion section when a book written by Beth Moore stood out to me- To Live Is Christ. It was the story of Paul. As soon as I picked it up, I knew that I was to read that book. It was inspiring to me, and contained within it exactly the message I needed to hear at that time in my life.
That's the same mood I was in on May 20th. Keith and I were celebrating our 16th anniversary and ended up at Lifeway bookstore. For some time now I have wanted to study the book of Daniel, so I headed over to the Beth Moore section and grabbed the last copy of her Daniel study. But I felt nothing, even as I strummed through the pages of the study, skimming the info that I would soon be spending hours pouring over. It looks to be a wonderful study, but I did not feel as if it contained within it God's words to me that would heal my brokenness that I was experiencing at that time.
Then Keith came up to me holding a book and saying "Michele, I meant to tell you, Mike Cope has written a book about his daugher Megan." I knew of Megan and the Cope's brave battle with their disabled child. Even though she died over ten years ago, her witness for Jesus still continues to this day. I took the book from Keith and immediately I knew. This was the book that God wanted me to read.
Below is link from an excerpt from the beginning of the book. It is written by Emily Kingsley. I cannot thank God enough for showing me at a very low point that He knew exactly how I felt and that Keith and I were not in this alone. I am also including the link to www.amazon.com if you would like to purchase Mike's book.
