This past Wednesday night, before Women's PowerWALK Wednesday started, I was in the church kitchen with some wonderful women who were making homemade pizza for the WALKers that night. I could not have any of it, and it smelled great!!! All of the sudden, I wanted a hamburger.
Wendy's is right next to the church building, so off I went, about 1 hour before PowerWALK began, off to get a bunless, cheeseless hamburger.
I have a lot of things on my mind right now. Autism, methylation, oxidation, Vitamin B, preschool, work, PowerWALK, family, Keith, Mavs, weight, food, prayer, etc. Lots of stuff going on in there. I was insecure about ordering a bunless hamburger, even though I know it has been done lots of times. But this was my first time, so I was nervous. I took Megan Venable along with me, for support.
This is how the conversation at Wendy's went:
Me: "Hi. I would like to order a cheeseburger, but hold the cheese and the bun. I would like all of the vegetables."
Wendy's: "You mean you want a hamburger without the bun?"
Me: "No, I want a cheeseburger, but I can't eat cheese and I can't eat bread, so I'll take a cheeseburger without the cheese and bun, but I want all the vegetables."
Wendy's: "M'aam, I think you want a hamburger without the bun."
Me: "No, I want a cheeseburger, but I can't have cheese, so I'll eat it like a salad."
Wendy's "Ok, M'aam, please pull forward."
Megan: dying laughing, leaning forward, holding her stomach.
I did not realize until later what I was saying to the lady at Wendy's. I think I'll go to the one on 412 for awhile until she forgets about my stupidity.
But at least Megan had a smile and a good story to share that night!
